Let us begin with an example, by considering how God saves us. God the Father has planned our salvation from all eternity: “He [God the Father] chose us in him [Christ] before the foundation of the world” (Eph. 1:4). “He predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ” (v. 5).
